How to reset Two-Factor Authentication?
Whether you've changed phone numbers, lost your device, or can't authenticate for any reason, an Admin-level user on your account can assist you.
An Admin-level user can assist you with resetting your two-factor authentication. If you are the Account Owner and need assistance, please contact us at support@contractsafe.com as extra verifications are necessary due to the nature of the situation.
Two-Factor Authentication (also called 2FA or DFA — Dual-Factor Authentication —
in ContractSafe) adds an important layer of security to your account. But when
access breaks down — lost phone, new number, no signal, or a switched device
getting back in quickly becomes the priority. This article walks you through every
reset scenario so no one stays locked out for long.
Directions for Resetting a User's Two-Factor Authentication
To reset a user's two-factor authentication method, you can simply select the Resend invite button on your User Management menu next to the user. Read below for more specific instructions.
- If you're an Admin-level user, select Settings -> Users.
- Search for the user's email on your list of users.
- Click on the Resend button adjacent to the user's email address. A new invitation link will be sent out to the user you selected.

- Instruct the user to log in and follow the prompts to choose a new authentication method.

Note: Resending the invite resets both the user's 2FA and their password.
The user will need to create a new password as well. Let them know before you
resend.
ContractSafe encourages the use of an Authenticator app over cell phone authentication, as it is more reliable, can be accessed offline, or without signal reception.
