Standard Fields in ContractSafe
ContractSafe includes a set of standard fields that are automatically available in your account. These fields help you capture and organize the most important details about your contracts right out of the box. While many customers also choose to create Custom Fields for their unique business needs, the standard fields provide a strong foundation for contract tracking.
Below is a list of the standard fields you’ll see in your forms, along with their available formats and options.
Party Information
- My Company (dropdown): Select from a list of company entities your organization adds via the contract page and the My Company settings.
- Counterparty (dropdown): Select from a list of counterparties your organization adds via the contract page.
- Account (dropdown): Track contracts by account, using a list of values your organization adds.
- Approved by (dropdown): Identify the approver from a list of names your organization manages.
Key Dates
- Effective Date (date): The start date of the contract.
- Termination Date (date): The end date of the contract.
- Deadline to Nonrenew (date): The cutoff date for canceling an autorenewal.
- Renewal Term (dropdown): Options include monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, 5 years, 7 years, 10 years, or a specific date.
- Autorenew (checkbox for Date fields): Track whether the contract automatically renews.
Contract Provisions
- Consent Required for Assignment (checkbox): Note if third-party consent is required for contract assignment.
- Includes Arbitration Provision (checkbox): Record whether an arbitration clause is included.
- Includes Confidentiality Provision (checkbox): Record whether a confidentiality clause is included.
Forms and Governing Rules
- Form Agreement (dropdown): Select from a list of form agreement types your organization manages.
- Form Name (dropdown): Select from a list of form names added by your organization.
- Governing Law (dropdown): Choose the governing law from your organization’s list.
- Jurisdiction for Disputes (dropdown): Choose the jurisdiction from your organization’s list.
- Requirements Upon Termination (checkbox): Indicate if the contract includes special termination requirements.
Financial Terms
- Value (currency) (dropdown): Select from a list of currencies to track contract value.
- Value (number) (number): Enter the numeric contract value.
These two together represent a single standard field for tracking contract value.
Administrative Fields
- Execution Status (dropdown): Options include Unknown, Not Executed, Partially Executed, Fully Executed, or N/A.
- Contract Type (dropdown): Choose from 14 standard types, or add custom ones in your settings.
- Active/Inactive (toggle): Mark whether the contract is currently active.
Notes
- These fields are included automatically for all contracts in ContractSafe.
- Many of the dropdown lists (such as Counterparty, My Company, and Governing Law) are fully customizable by your organization.
- If you’d like to add more fields to track information unique to your business, you can always create Custom Fields in Settings → Custom Fields and Forms.
