Give Every Contract a Clear, Consistent Name Automatically

Set your naming rules once, then apply them across new and existing contracts. No more renaming by hand or guessing which contract is which.

Contract names should help you find the right contract, not make you guess. With Automatic Contract Naming, admins set the format once, and each contract is named automatically using the details they choose. Your team gets clear, consistent names without renaming contracts by hand.

Build your naming convention

Pick up to five fields that help your team recognize a contract, such as contract type, counterparty, termination date, or a custom field you already use. Drag them into the order that makes sense, then add the connecting text between each field.

The live sample preview updates as you build your format, so you can see exactly how your contract names will look before you save.

Body (59)

Choose which contracts it applies to

You can turn it on for new contracts, existing contracts, or both. AI reads the values from the fields you picked and builds the name from there, so you don't have to touch a single contract.

And you're not locked in. ContractSafe saves each contract's previous name, so if you turn of Automatic Contract Naming, your old names come back.

If there's a contract you want to name yourself, go ahead. Your name takes priority and stays put.

Getting started

Automatic Contract Naming is available on all plans. Only admins can configure it and the naming format applies across the entire account.

Go to Settings > Custom Fields, Forms, Highlights, and Naming, open the Naming tab, and turn on Automatic Contract Naming.
